Sitting beside the gas stove, writing Christmas cards, felt so good today. I left the lights on the Christmas tree and snuggled in the warmth while I wrote to friends in the Dominican Republic.

Monday night Rachel and Bert helped Grandpa and me put some wood ornaments on our tree that we bought from a Boy Scout lot - the easiest Christmas tree we ever got, he said.
